Puchi News: March 2021

Another fun month of Puchi News has come to a close, so we’re here to tell you all about it!

Don’t forget to check out our other Puchi News if you haven’t yet!

πŸ¦‹ egg pranks taken too far

egg has been very active on their YouTube channel and while most of their videos are lighthearted jokes or get ready with me’s etc., one of their most recent videos was problematic to say the least, and disappointing to see shortly after international women’s day, during women’s history month.
This video we speak of one of the models pretends to be the victim of DV and in the end they end up all laughing about it, belittling this very serious problem that has had a serious flare up during COVID.
We wouldn’t recommend watching the video, but you can see it here to report it.

πŸ¦‹ Rumi starts a YouTube channel!

Gyaru parapara icon Rumi started her own YouTube channel under the name “RumiRingo TV“. She already has a few videos up about her experience as gal, doing gal makeup and ofcourse dancing parapara!! We can’t wait to see what kind of fun videos she’ll be doing from now on!

πŸ¦‹ Papillon in Okei!! Podcast

Papillon’s very own Lea and Cat got together with O-kei Podcast to discuss all things gyaru, Papillon and how to create a gyaru-sa. Definitely go check O-Kei Podcast out and give this fun interview a listen!

πŸ¦‹ Dededooo starts her own webcomic

We’re sure most of you know who Dededooo is by now, but she’s an incredibly talented gal who’s both been selling clothing with her own design as well as some other smaller items.

Most recently she started up her own gal webcomic that often features her original character, Mimi, as well as herself. You’ll see illustrations of Dede both before she was gyaru and after her transformation.

πŸ¦‹ BD's Gyaru Unit -from 2000- disbands

This one is worth mentioning twice, but gyaru idols Aochanpe, Marchirin and Runakonga disbanded as of the 31st of March. They ended their three year run with a Graduation live through YouTube.

πŸ¦‹ Interview with ANRI

French speaking YouTuber Citron Violet interviewed former gyaru model Anri for their YouTube channel. The interview is in Japanese, with French subtitles.

πŸ¦‹ Ryokapiro quits Black Diamond

After five years in BD Ryokapiro quits the gyarusa to move on to different things. She doesn’t exactly say why but she is one of egg girls and has been filming as cast of one of their shows recently as well as auditioning to be a nuts model. In her message she notes however that she will always love gyaru.

πŸ¦‹ Rumi gyaru-fies another model

Seems like collaborating with YouTubers and Gyaru-fying them has become a bit of a trend. Most recently Rumi teamed up with YouTuber Rio Uchida and gave her a Heisei Gyaru make over. Supposedly this was Rio’s dream since forever so she got to meet her idol as well as become a gyaru for a day.

πŸ¦‹ Tsu-chan's continued love for gyaru

Tsu-Chan hasn’t been gyaru for some years already, but it seems this gyaru boom as of late is rekindling some old feelings of love for the style. She recently did a Heisei gyaru look and now she is back with a shiro gyaru look, as a collaboration with another YouTuber.

πŸ¦‹ GAL Talk starts selling goods

Gal Talk, a chatting service for gals has now started selling gyaru goods for any and all lovers of gyaru. As of right now they mostly just have very simple products, but it’ll be fun to see what more they will bring! They have a few products in their suzuri store already, even some featuring Chopa!!!

πŸ¦‹ nuts June issue goes into print

Not every issue of our beloved gal mags go into print but recently when they do, they usually come with a little bit something extra! This time you can order your issue with a models signature and they will give you a special nuts makeup bag and a free ticket to nuts night!

Magazine can be purchased here.

πŸ¦‹ Yukipoyo in a new advertisement for Rizap

Gyaru magazines are notorious for unhealthy beauty standards when it comes to weight and often advertise all kinds of diet pills; showing heavily Photoshopped before/after pictures that would distort anyone’s view on how you should look.

It was refreshing then to see Yukipoyo in an advertisement from Rizap, a health focused company that produces their own gyms and sells healthy meals in various stores. Let’s not forget the main point; we should all get healthy while dancing parapara!!
