The gyaru comm has been bursting with new baby gals and new, fun things since quarantine as many of you might have noticed! In the gyaru comm we like celebrating new things that uplift gal so, like in the past, we have always loved any kind of gyaru artists and it definitely gets us excited seeing new ones pop up!
Today we’re here with a new and up coming Gyaru Idol, and that’s definitely not a combo you see everyday! Kirarin is a baby gal who is full of gal power and super enthusiastic to share her love for gyaru, parapara and music in her new debut as a Gyaru Idol.
Continuing on with our Gal 101 series, next up we have Mori Gyaru! For these series our models and staff have gathered their sources and thoughts about the styles they are passionate about and this week we have Kumomo teaching us about this lovely sub-style! She is also our artist so spot her in Volume 2 if you haven’t already!
Gyaru has always been hyper sexualized through popular media due to their clothing choices, actions and in many cases due to their work in the sex industry. Of course not all styles would fall under the sexy umbrella, but there is no denying that most gyaru tags are saturated with sexy imagery.
Seeing as our next issue centres around helping beginners, we thought it would be great to get some of our experienced gals to give you all some tips on their styles, and make it as cheap as possible! We all know how it is to start a new style, or even change one, how money and time consuming it can be, and we wanted to make it easier for you all!
There’s a bit of a Para Para ripple at the moment happening online. You may have noticed it on TikTok and YouTube. When record label Avex re-uploded a classic medley, it came as quite a pleasant surprise, but a good motivation to stay home & para para!
It may not come as a surprise to many of you, that Koakuma Ageha revives again during this gyaru boom. This time it it is not coming back as amonthly magazine, rather a quarterly magazine.
Koakuma’s original run was from 2005 until May 2014, restarting in April 2015. Last year it was announced that it would cease publication with its May issue, on the 1st of April, due to Sakurina’s (Sakurai Rina) graduation from the magazine. This was due to their believe that the magazine would not hold up without her. The discontinuation was just a month shy of the official start of Reiwa, and the Reiwa gyaru revival that began.
🦋 Release Date and models?
Although the release date has been set for the 24th of April, so far no models have been announced. But, it is safe to say that they already have a lineup decided.
Just like egg and nuts did, they were holding auditions on Line, from the 23rd of March to the 10th of April. Interviews will then be held on the 18th and 19th of April and they will debut in the second issue on the 30th of June.
The audition was open for hostesses, dancers, lounge workers and other similar entertainment workers.
With no Sakurina in the new launch, how much are you gals looking forward to the new Koakuma Ageha?
Yikes, quarantine. I never would’ve thought I’d want to actually escape from my house until I had to be stuck here for a few weeks. It’s hard, really hard, to find entertainment as there’s only so much Netflix you can watch… Especially when it means that I can no longer see my gals! So here’s my little gyaru survival guide during quarantine.
First of all, we want to thank all of you lovely gals for sending in your outfits!
It is so lovely to see all the variety in styles and clothing choices, so much so that I can not wait to see more from you gals!
For a few years now, I have not personally been a big part of the Gyaru community. But with Lea’s recent participation, and now being the head of Papillon magazine, it is not a surprise that I got dragged into it with her. In the good sense, of course.
Last year EGG announced their popular gyaru slang of 2019, voted on by their in-house models and over 3000 other gals.
BIG NEWS!
If one thing is true, it is that us gals really
love having fun together! With that in mind the gals of Plutonium have
decided to host an International Winter Meet this upcoming March!
[UPDATE: Deadline postponed due to COVID-19 until further notice]
A fellow gal named Kai has started a fun project for gals that love parapara! After being a paralist for some years herself, she decided to finally take the plunge and create a DVD! However for it to happen she will need help from the community!
